We are thrilled to confirm vice-captain Joel Connolly has agreed to sign another one-year deal to enter his fifth season at Nantwich Town.

Connolly joined back in March 2023 and instantly became the popular character he remains now, surpassing 100 Dabbers appearances during last season. Leading by example on the pitch with his tenacity, aggression and, as proven in recent months again his quality, as he finished this campaign with 3 goals and 10 assists, winning 4 awards including the fan-voted Player of the Season.

On signing, Joel said:

“I’m made up to have agreed for the upcoming season, we’ve got good foundations to build on from last year with a good group of lads and staff who all want the same thing. I’m looking forward to kicking on and finishing as a live contender next April for those promotion places.”

Manager Luke Goddard said:

“I’m sure I share the same views of all of the managers who have been here with Joel, he’s everything you want in terms of the commitment and character he has both on and off the pitch.

He’s another who wants to go higher but he wants that to be with Nantwich. It’s the kind of loyalty that sadly is dwindling in the game we love and that is why Joel has everyone’s respect; we really do hope he is here for another three years and more. The Dabbers faithful will be pleased he is here to stay and play a huge part in the project set out.”
