We are pleased to announce that defender Aidy Roxburgh has committed his future for 2026-27 at the Swansway Stadium.
The 27-year-old rejoined the Dabbers last summer after a previous stint in 2022-23 and enjoyed a fantastic season with 10 assists (the joint highest of any Nantwich player) and 2 goals in 49 appearances. With his endless energy up and down that right hand side all year, he became a mainstay in the team, contributing heavily to the way the Dabbers attacked.
After agreeing to extend his stay for another season he had this to say:
“I’m made up to be staying here at Nantwich. I love it here and I’m keen to build on a positive last season. We have a top group of lads in the dressing room which is more than capable to be challenging at the top end of the table this season. Up the Dabbers.”
Manager Luke Goddard also gave his thoughts:
“I think after the season Aidy had last year we simply did not want to lose him. He, like many others, had crazy offers to turn their heads elsewhere but after a real good honest conversation we are delighted he has committed for a further season.
We want stability, and maintaining our core group was essential just as much as the sprinkling of new players. Aidy fits everything we want in our fullbacks and I actually believe we can improve him even further this season so those good statistics he got will only go up further again!”
