Nantwich Town are pleased to confirm defender Perry Bircumshaw is the latest to be retained, entering what will be his fifth season with the Dabbers.

Perry joined permanently back in September 2022 after an initial dual registration from Winsford United. He’s played in numerous positions when required but predominantly at the energetic left back he is accustomed to, giving huge loyalty and commitment to the Swansway Stadium, up to 145 appearances in total since first joining. He also won Nantwich’s Player’s Player of the Season award in 2024.

Despite a few minor injury setbacks last campaign he still made 37 appearances, scoring 3 goals and getting 4 assists; it is great to have another familiar face back for 2026/27.

Perry had this to say:

“Happy to be entering my 5th season with the Dabbers! The lads that have been retained all know the job we need to do to finish higher up the table and at minimum obtain a place in the playoffs! Mix this with the passion of the management team and I really believe it can be achieved! Up the Dabbers!”

Manager Luke Goddard said:

“You simply just know what you’re getting from Pez. If we can keep him on the pitch there aren’t many better in the league and level above, he’s shown that since he joined back in 2022. Also another local lad who is a great character in the dressing room amongst the group, so as staff we are delighted he wants to commit to another season with the Dabbers and I truly hope it can be the best season yet for Pez and the club from the last few years. With Aidy, Fitzy, Pez and soon to be announced other options defensively I wouldn’t change any of them, I believe we have the best strength in depth to give us that key foundation to build off.”
