We are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Ethan Hartshorn who joins from Congleton Town.
Hartshorn, 24 years old, is a former Crewe Alex youth player, leaving at 18 years old before joining his local side Congleton Town in 2021 after a spell at Kidsgrove. He has gone on to make over 200 appearances for The Bears, winning a promotion as well as three trophies in his time, captaining the club on numerous occasions.
His loyalty and consistency are to be admired and on making the move to the Swansway Stadium Ethan said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be here and can’t wait to get started in what should be an exciting season. The ambition of the club over the next few seasons really appealed to me and I think it’s the right fit for the next chapter of my career.”
After being another long-term target, Manager Luke Goddard added:
“Ethan has been ultra consistent for a number of years and one we’ve followed for a while. His pedigree and profile along with the loyalty he has shown matched with his ambition to see Nantwich as a progression was enough for us to do what we could to bring him in.
A box to box midfielder, which will add further to our retained options, he has the hunger and proven winning mentality we need. As supporters will begin to see, the recruitment process is based on getting back to finding the best profile of lads locally where possible that want to push on in their own careers, aligned with the club’s ambition to progress again not just for twelve months but over the next few years.”
