Nantwich Town U12’s maintain their unbeaten start in the JPL

Thanks to Lee Pickles for this update:

The U12s finally got going in the JPL, the first two weeks Nantwich Town remain unbeaten.

After a long Pre-season and a busy summer of friendlies, the U12s travelled to Northwich Victoria for the first JPL game of the new season. The game was scrappy in parts, as to be expected for the first game but overall very pleasing. The game finished a draw, 3-3, they competed well against a team that has been together for a number of years, showing they can play good football and contend against quite a direct playing team.

The theme of the summer has been to work hard for each other, don’t give up and support your mates on the pitch. This was shown in abundance on Saturday.

Whilst the team gave its all as a whole, Aadav in the centre of midfield didn’t stop moving. His work rate was unbelievable and could be seen all over the pitch, in attack and defence.

Sunday the team hosted Florence Youth in the North Staffs League, a comfortable win in the end after a tough start but Nantwich went through the gears with Frank getting himself a hat trick adding to his goal from yesterday.

Week 2 saw us make the trip up the M6 to Fylde in the JPL…WOW what a performance!

The tough physical fixture the week before changed to skilful one touch football. Dylan managed to shake his man marker from the Northwich game and found the space to produce a solo effort, weaving in and out of 4 defenders and slotting it past the keeper.

More quality football was to follow, one touch football from back to front finished with a goal that will be hard to beat as the goal of the season.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Dabbers, Fylde came close on a couple of occasions hitting the wood work but the resolve and team work personified by Nate at the back working alongside fellow defender Ollie keeping the Fylde attack at bay. A clean sheet and goals from the attacking force saw a very strong performance away from home, winning 6-0.

Sunday in the North Staffs league saw Nantwich travel to Madeley White Star, after such a good performance Saturday the Dabbers got off to a slow start and were 2-0 down within 15 mins. This team has already shown is resolve and togetherness over preseason, coming from behind on a number of occasions, so they dug in, stuck to their game plan and turned things around, 2 quick fire goals from Kudzai got Nantwich back into the game and they then started to show their class, eventually coming out winners 4-2.

This weekend sees Nantwich host Macclesfield Town in the JPL, for their first home game and Sunday we travel to Newcastle Town in the North Staffs, 2 difficult fixtures.
