Nantwich Town Reserves 3 – 1 Wigan Town
The reserves came flying out of the blocks and got their reward when Kenzie Pickles finished off some fantastic team pressing to the give the Dabbers an early lead.
Wigan Town hit back and made things difficult, with the final 10 minutes of the first half leaving the home side under pressure and conceding late on in the half.
Half-time: 1-1
In the second half, the lads came out with a completely different intensity.
They were better in possession, more creative and showed a real desire to get back in front.
Campbell was the quickest to react to a mistake from the Wigan goalkeeper, pouncing on a defensive error and putting the Reserves 2-1 up.
From there, the Dabbers continued to press from the front, moved the ball brilliantly and spread the play across the pitch.
They played some excellent football, and took control of the game. Jayden Jones added to the lead, scoring a header towards the end of the game, securing a 3-1 win on the opening game of the season.
Rich Pullar’s boys are back in action at home tomorrow, as they take on AFC Stockport at 2pm, on Malbank Playing Fields.
