Ahead of a long trip on the road to Northumberland to take on Morpeth Town, Dabbers midfielder David Webb believes that “three points are definitely achievable” if Dave Cooke’s men apply themselves the way they know they can.

David also spoke about how it was like settling into the club, as well as the busy festive period and how important the fans’ support is.

Webb believed that settling into the club was easy, with a particular thanks to the supporters who have welcomed the midfielder.

“It’s very easy to settle into a club that is extremely welcoming – that’s including the fans, staff and players.

“The lads are great which of course makes it much more enjoyable.”

The midfielder reckons that it has been a challenge to adapt into becoming a first-team regular, but his positive attitude has gone a long way into securing his place.

“Nothing is ever easy. If you put the work in, you will always get your chance – but when you do, you have to prove yourself.

“It’s frustrating to sit on the bench (like I did at the start of the season) for any player, but you can either sulk about it or stay positive and take your chance when you get it.”

After a string of tenacious performances both on the wing and in the heart of midfield, David has quickly become a fans’ favourite amongst the Dabbers faithful.

“It’s great to hear the fans like you, and it’s extremely encouraging for any player at any level of football.”

As the lads now turn to a busy festive period, Webb believes it is crucial to focus on amassing as many points as possible.

“Our targets never change no matter what time of year. We look to win every game and progress as high up the table as we can go.”

Webb also points out that the Dabbers cannot be knocked from their defeat to rivals Warrington at Cantilever Park last weekend.

“It’s always hard to take a defeat – regardless of the opponent. The most important thing for us now is to not let it knock our confidence. We go again on Saturday.”

Finally, the midfielder is quick to ensure it is known that Saturday’s trip to Morpeth Town will not be an easy task.

“It’s difficult to go away to any team in this league, but if we apply ourselves correctly and play the way we know we can, then the three points are definitely achievable.”
