The Dabbers will be looking to make it back to back victories in the league this weekend, when they take on Warrington Town at Cantilever Park in the BetVictor Northern Premier League on Saturday. Dave Cooke’s side come into the Cheshire derby in impressive form after dispatching Ashton United 4-0 in their last time out.
The Yellows come into the game after a three-week layoff, due to postponements in their games against Ashton United and Mickleover Sports. Before their winter break they were in fine form though, beating bottom of the table Stafford Rangers 2-1 and Hyde United 4-1, putting them fourth in the league, just two points above Nantwich who have a game in hand. A win for the Dabbers would see them leapfrog Warrington in the table, with The Dabbers undefeated in their last three away matches.

Our Last Meeting
Warrington ran out 3-1 winners the last time the two sides met in the league in September, which was their first ever win at The Weaver Stadium. The Yellows took the lead in the first half through Dave Raven and doubled it from the spot in the 65th minute, Mathew Chadwick slotting his penalty past Greg Hall. The Dabbers did get one back just four minutes later, Joe Malkin’s fine header finding the back of the net from a pin-point Sean Cooke cross. Warrington got their third and sealed all three points late on in the game though, Josh Amis getting on the end of Ben Garrity’s low cross to fire home from close range.
Last Time Out
Ashton United 0-4 Nantwich Town
BetVictor Northern Premier League
Saturday 23rd November 2019
Nantwich were at their devastating best when they took on Ashton United last Saturday, hammering four past The Robins to get back to winning ways. The Dabbers took the lead in the 16th minute, after being awarded a penalty for a foul on Callum Saunders. James Lawrie stepped up and expertly slotted the spot kick past the keeper, hitting both posts in the process. The game was turned on its head in the 38th minute when Andrew Hogarth was sent off for Ashton for a dangerous tackle on Lawrie, the midfielder thankfully okay. The lead was doubled shortly after the break, Troy Bourne’s perfectly weighted cross finding Saunders to head home from close range. It was all the Dabbers now and with 20 minutes to go a blistering counterattack from The Dabbers saw Saunders fire home from close range, his fourth in two games. Any hope of a comeback was taken away just three minutes later, this time Ricardo Fuller’s quick feet found him space in the box to slot the ball in the net from an almost impossible angle.

Key Man – Ben Garrity
The midfielder is in his second season for The Yellows, joining from Oyster AFC in July 2018 and is a familiar foe for the Dabbers, scoring twice in last year’s playoffs to end Nantwich dreams of promotion. Plucked from the Liverpool amateur leagues, the midfielder committed his future to the club at the start of the season, signing a two-year deal. Garrity had offers from Football League clubs last summer, turning them down to continue his development at Warrington, where he’s already scored seven goals in the league this Campaign. With a player like Garrity in the opposition, the midfield battle will be critical for The Dabbers on Saturday.
