After an incredible promotion in the 2020/21 season, The Dabbers are now eligible to play in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
They will start their historic journey in the First Qualifying Round. The draw takes place on Friday 13th August with the tie being played on Sunday 12th September.
Manager Chris Broad expressed his delight following the news “It’s fantastic news that the club has been accepted into this seasons Women’s FA Cup in just our second season. It will be a historic moment on September 12th when we step out in what is a famous competition”
For a team that only formed two seasons ago, they have already achieved promotion and a place in the FA Cup in what has been an unbelievable few years for the club “I’ve been very proud to steer the team to what we have achieved so far” said Broad.
“It will be a proud occasion to stand side by side a fantastic set of players as we dream of what could be in the cup”
The Dabbers find out who they have got this afternoon but they will go into the game with full confidence after an excellent season last time out “We will go into the game with nothing to lose and everything to gain. We will give our all and see where it takes us”
Chris Broad has revealed that they will be without key player Kerry Green she requires surgery that will rule her out for a number of months “It’s a real shame for Kerry, who has this week been ruled out for a minimum of 6 months and may require surgery after that if her recovery from a knee injury doesn’t go as planned. We wish her a speedy and straight forward recovery and will hope to be successful for her as well as ourselves, the fans and all who have supported us on our journey so far”
