Nantwich Town FC Women’s superb unbeaten league streak came to an end on the afternoon of Sunday 30th November 2025 as they fell to a 4–2 defeat away at Altrincham FC Women in the North West Women’s Regional League Division One South.

The Dabbers arrived at Partington Sports Village full of confidence, their last league loss dating all the way back to September 2024. And the Dabbers beat Alty 8-1 on the opening day of this season. But on the day the hosts proved the stronger, bringing Nantwich’s impressive run to a close in their twelfth league outing of the campaign.

Manager Dan Mellor made three changes to the side that started the previous week, handing a debut to Beth Grice in midfield.

Altrincham edged a tense first half, taking a 3–1 lead into the break. Nantwich’s goal came via an Altrincham own goal as the Dabbers looked to force their way back into the contest.

In the second half, captain Meg Ragdale (sponsored by MRSC Engineering) pulled another goal back, but it wasn’t enough as the home side added a fourth to seal the victory.

After the full-time whistle, Manager Dan Mellor reflected on the match:

“We handed Altrincham their goals today with poor defending and we can’t hide from that. At this level, if you give teams chances like that, they’ll punish you and they did. But one result doesn’t define us. We don’t throw anyone under the bus, we don’t panic, we stick together. We’ve earned our position in this league as a group and we’ll rebuild our confidence as a group. The players know the standards we hold ourselves to and we’ll put the work in to get back to them. We believe in this team, we believe in the dressing room, and now it’s about responding the right way.”

The Dabbers remain top of the Division One South table, sitting on 29 points from 12 games — with nine wins, two draws, just one defeat, and an impressive +37 goal difference.
