The Dabbers’ last home game of 2025 sees us host Bootle on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

All I Want for Christmas is Boo(tle)

On the 1st November, Bootle were thrashed 6-0 away at Chasetown, the undoubted low point of their season. How a team responds to a day like that is a great measure of their character, and Bootle would seem to have character in spades as they’ve been unbeaten since.

Draws with Bury and Witton have been followed by 4 wins on the bounce, and they’ve handed out a couple of thrashings of their own in there. They beat Trafford 1-0, Mossley 5-1, Kidsgrove 3-1 and Newcastle Town 5-0 last weekend.

That run has taken them up to 9th in the NPL West and just 3 points off the play-offs. Away from home they have only lost once all season; only Lower Breck have a better away record than the Bucks. Against a Dabbers side that have lost 5 of the last 6 at home and 8 of the last 11 overall, the visitors must start as favourites.

Last Time We Met

It certainly feels a long time since the heady summer day in August when Nantwich travelled to Bootle and came away with the 3 points courtesy of a brace from Callum Saunders in a 2-1 win. Goals below.

Players to Watch

Ste Edmondson and Courtney Duffus have both scored 4 goals in their last 3 games so stand out as the form players in the side at the moment.

Matthew Fenton has also scored in back-to-back games. And of course, captain and leader between the posts is Tony Thompson, consistently one of the best goalkeepers in the division.

Match Information

Tickets are available online HERE or on the gate.

Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a lead.

Please be careful with parking and avoid parking on the road that leads into the housing estate next to the stadium as it causes bad traffic issues.

And don’t forget it’s the NTISA Christmas Hamper draw! There are 4 hampers full of food and drink available to win; all you have to do is buy the raffle tickets from the 50/50 draw hut near the turnstiles, with the money going back into the club so a worthy investment for more than one reason!
