Marske’s form has unquestionably turned around since the return of Carl Jarrett as manager. Only 2 defeats in their last 8 has seen them leapfrog the Dabbers into 18th. Their 4-2 win over Stalybridge on Tuesday night both relegated Celtic and brought them to the cusp of survival.
They have been very good at getting the points from teams around them and now have the chance to relegate 2 teams in 3 days. For the Dabbers, anything less than a win will mean the drop.
Over the season though, Marske have conceded goals at a rate of almost 2 a game, and only Belper and Liversedge have conceded more at home.
Last Time Out
Both clubs have changed manager since our last meeting which was only towards the end of February. A grim evening saw Marske win 2-1 with a squad of just 13 players, Steven Hewitt’s first Dabbers goal kicking off his run of scoring the biggest Nantwich highlight.
Players to Watch
He didn’t make it onto the pitch in the reverse game, but Adam Boyes remains the standout player in the Marske side. He is joint 3rd top scorer in the league, scoring 22 in 47 games in all competitions this season. And he comes into this off the back both of a new 2-year contract and a hat trick on Tuesday.
His partnership with Junior Mondal is worth keeping an eye on, Junior also scored against Stalybridge.
Donald Chimalilo ran the Dabbers ragged in that February game but hasn’t scored in his 12 appearances since he bagged at the Swansway Stadium.
It is worth pointing out that since that 21st February game, Marske have played 13 matches and the Dabbers 8, fitness could be a factor in this one.
