Our Last Meeting

AFC Fylde 4-0 Nantwich Town
Intergro League Cup
Tuesday 13th January 2014

The last time the two sides met, Sean Cooke grabbed a brace and Caspar Hughes played – but both for AFC Fylde. The Dabbers fell to an outstanding second-half performance from the Coasters as Fylde progressed in the Intergro League Cup. Cooke netted from a whipped free-kick in the second half, before Aiden Chippendale grabbed the second soon after. Danny Lloyd made it three for the hosts with eighteen minutes to go, and Cooke finished the job with eleven minutes remaining as Nantwich were dumped out of the cup en-route to the Mill Farm side romping on to win the competition.

Last Time Out

Whitby Town 3-3 Nantwich Town
The BetVictor Northern Premier Division
Saturday 2nd November 2019

Despite at one stage holding a commanding 3-1 lead, Nantwich Town were powerless to resist a superb fightback from hosts Whitby Town as the spoils were shared at the Turnbull Ground in BetVictor Northern Premier Division action. Joe Malkin’s brace as well as David Webb’s first ever goal for the club had put the Dabbers in a comfortable position, but two penalties in the final fifteen minutes saw the Seasiders come from behind to secure a point in an entertaining game in North Riding.

Key Man – Matty Kosylo

Matty is a name that will need absolutely no introduction to fans of the Dabbers. A hero during the club’s run to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy in 2015-16, ‘Kosy’ as he is affectionately known, won the Northern Premier Division’s Young Player of the Season in 15-16 after some truly magnificent performances. The winger is capable of scoring and assisting and will be a real handful for the Dabbers defence this weekend. Following his departure from the club, Matty signed for FC Halifax Town, where he spent several seasons before joining up at Mill Fam in the summer.

View from the Dressing Room

Ahead of the game, Sean Cooke said this to nantwichtownfc.co.uk.

“It’s a great feeling and hopefully it’s a special occasion. It’s been hard as there is a lot of games but you can’t complain because it’s the FA Cup and there is no other cup competition like it! I really do think this is the best squad I’ve played with compared to the other two. So hopefully we can show it on the day.”
