With one day to go until the big day, Nantwich’s highest-capped member of the squad, Sean Cooke, gave his thoughts on the FA Cup tie and what the boys have been through to reach this point.

“It’s a great feeling and hopefully it’s a special occasion.

“It’s been hard as there is a lot of games but you can’t complain because it’s the FA Cup and there is no other cup competition like it!”

Sean has been involved in both of the previous two FA Cup First Round Proper matches which ended in defeats, but is hopeful of breaking the duck tomorrow.

“It would mean the world to me being as it’s my hometown and having failed twice before so hopefully it’s third time lucky.”

As a big crowd is expected for the match, Cooke spoke about his teammates, and what he is hoping he can bring to the side in which to help the Dabbers progress to the second round for the first time in the clubs history.

“I really do think this is the best squad I’ve played with compared to the other two. So hopefully we can show it on the day.

“I hope my experience and ability with the ball can help us get through whether that’s setting up a goal or scoring; I don’t care as long as we’re in the hat on Monday evening.”

As one of the lowest ranked teams left in the competition, Nantwich have received a lot of support on social media, as well as being selected as BBC Radio 2’s team to watch by Zoe Ball, and are anticipating a good atmosphere during tomorrow’s match.

Sean went on to say that he was looking forward to the game, and has no doubt the support will be even better than usual as he praised the Dabbers fanbase.

You can see Sean Cooke and the Dabbers in action this weekend as they host Vanarama National League outfit AFC Fylde in the First Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup. It will be the first time the Dabbers host a First Round Proper clash – and admission is priced at £11 for adults, £8 for concessions and £3 for U16s, who are free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

Supporters are reminded that the game is neither segregated nor all-ticket, so to guarantee a seat in the Optimum Pay Group Main Stand, you are urged to arrive to the ground as early as possible as the club are expecting a large gate.
