Nantwich Town have strengthened its backroom team ahead of the 2026/27 season with the appointment of its first-ever full-time Football Analyst, as Crewe-born George Edge-Robinson takes on the role.
The 20-year-old has recently completed a Sports Performance Analysis and Talent Identification degree at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, and has now joined the Dabbers men’s coaching staff on a permanent basis after working behind the scenes with the club since January.
George will play a key role in supporting the coaching staff throughout the season, providing detailed analysis of performances, preparing for upcoming opponents and assisting during training sessions and on matchdays.
George said he is excited to begin the next stage of his career with Nantwich Town after completing his studies.
He said:
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to become Nantwich Town’s first full-time Football Analyst. I’ve really enjoyed working with the staff and players since January, so to now make that role permanent is something I’m very proud of. My aim is to provide the coaching team with clear, detailed analysis that helps the players improve and gives us every possible advantage on matchdays. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and helping the club have a successful season.”
Nantwich Town manager Luke Goddard welcomed the appointment, saying:
“George has been a brilliant addition to the coaching team since joining us in January. His work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to learn have really impressed everyone at the club. Having a dedicated full-time analyst is another important step forward for Nantwich Town, and the insight George provides will be invaluable as we continue to develop both individually and collectively throughout the season.”
George’s role reflects the growing importance of performance analysis throughout football, with clubs at every level increasingly relying on data, video analysis and tactical insight to gain a competitive edge.
As the Dabbers prepare for the new campaign, the addition of a dedicated full-time analyst marks another step in the club’s continued development, ensuring the coaching staff have access to the detailed information needed to support player development and maximise performances throughout the 2026/27 season.
