Nantwich Women have made their first signing since promotion with the arrival of Katie Greenwood.
She has experience from the Dabbers’ new level of football having played for Middlewich Town and Newcastle Town, and captained them both.
Nantwich Women’s manager Dan Mellor said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Katie to the Dabbers, she’s someone I’ve followed closely now for a couple of years and we know what she can offer us. She has plenty of experience in this tier and is a natural leader, having captained her former clubs. She is dominant on the ball, can create, score from anywhere and her aggression off the ball is something we’ll certainly need in this league.”
And Katie said:
“I’m excited to start my journey with the club, I’ve been following Nantwich for a while now and I saw an opportunity through the trials to showcase my talent and to see what the club has to offer.
I feel I needed a change to challenge myself on and off the pitch and this is the place to do it. After seeing them lift the trophy and still have that hunger for more gives me confidence and excitement to go and win big things as a team!”
