The Dabbers are taking on Macclesfield in the Under 16’s Cheshire County Cup Final at Vauxhall Motors on Sunday 10th April with a 2pm Kick Off.
Both sides are having an amazing season with both teams searching for a historic quadruple, so it is fitting that these two great Under 16 sides meet in the Final of this particular competition.
The Nantwich Town U16 Greens are managed by Carl Boffey, ably assisted by Greg Cross and Keiron Clarke who have done an amazing job with this talented squad at their disposal. Greg Cross had the following to say about his sides journey so far this season:
“Regarding our season we have been playing some good football, playing out from the back and through the thirds to score some well worked goals. We are currently top of the North Staff’s Youth League Premier Division, and if we win our remaining two games, we will win the league although we have two really tough games ahead.
“In addition to the Cheshire Cup Final, we have made it to the League Cup Final and are also in the semi-finals of the Sentinel Shield. So, as you can see it has been an unbelievable season so far!
“On the 13th February our under 16’s took on Glenavon JFC in the semi-final of the Cheshire County Cup. The tie played on our 3G pitch in blustery conditions saw the young Dabbers emphatically beat their opposition 7-0 in what was a great performance.
“An early 1-0 lead taken with the opposition fighting back hard but missing a couple of early chances. By half time it was 3-0 with all our players having put in a massive first half performance. In the second half our Dabbers continued to apply the pressure scoring a further 4. The scorers were a hattrick for Ollie Holden, two for Aiden Cope and two for Lewis Martin.
“All players are a credit to NTFC and are to be congratulated on this great achievement. They now go on to play Macclesfield FC in the final on April 10th”
Our Under 16’s will be meeting at the ground in the Atherton Associates Lounge at 10.30am on Sunday before setting off to Vauxhall Motors at 12 noon on a team coach. If you are unable to make the trip to Ellesmere Port and want to wish them all the best, they would love to see you give your support before they set off.
