The Nantwich Town Football Club historian has compiled a new book on the football club, with the proceeds going to two charities to support key workers who have given so much during the current pandemic.

Michael Chatwin’s ‘The Ultimate Book of Nantwich Town Football Club’ is an exhaustive compilation of match dates, results, goalscorers, league tables and team photos to chart Nantwich’s ups and downs for each season since its formation in 1884.

Players featured include a future Archdeacon of Manchester, the first man to captain England at both cricket and rugby, a Cup Final referee, and an England international in the making, who are amongst nearly 2,000 players who have pulled on a Nantwich jersey and who are all included in this comprehensive new book on the Cheshire club.

“It’s been something of a labour of love,” confesses Michael, a long-time Dabbers fan. “And it’s certainly taken a heck of lot longer to complete than I’d originally thought!”

‘The Ultimate Book of Nantwich Town Football Club’ is a 324 page (40 pages in colour) hardback book priced at £22. The book is only available by pre-ordering from and includes having your name included in the ‘List of Subscribers’ published at the front of the book.

Ordered copies will be available for collection from the Weaver Stadium around 26th November 2020. Alternatively, the book can be posted to you on that date (£3.95 extra).

All proceeds will be donated to Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Charitable Fund COVID-19 Emergency Staff Wellbeing Appeal and The Care Workers Charity.
