Nantwich Town are delighted to announce the return of club legend Sean Cooke to the Swansway Stadium from Warrington Rylands.
In his three previous spells at the club he has scored 114 goals in 343 appearances, a goal every three games from midfield.
He has been top goalscorer at the club three times, most recently last season, and is the 4th highest scorer in Dabbers history. He was also a part of the League Team of the Season in 2018/19.
Sean is also a 3-time Cheshire Senior Cup winner and a part of the only 3 Dabbers sides ever to make it to the First Round Proper of the FA Cup, as well as that remarkable run to the FA Trophy semi-finals in 2016.
This season, he had 3 goals in 10 appearances for the Dabbers before joining Rylands, with whom he got 1 goal in 16 appearances.
On his return, Sean said:
“I’m delighted to be back. It’s my hope and ambition that we stay up; I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and putting the shirt on.”
And manager Paul Carden said:
“I’ve known Sean a long time, he’s well known at the club and well known as one of the best goalscoring attacking midfielders in the league over the last 4 or 5 years. It became clear he wasn’t going to be featuring at Rylands and we were never going to turn down the opportunity to get someone who’s going to add goals to what we need.”
To see Sean and the rest of the Dabbers in action this Saturday at home to Bamber Bridge at a special Non-League Day reduced price of £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, with free entry for under 16s, buy your tickets HERE. This offer is online only so don’t miss out!
Welcome home, Sean!
