As you will be aware, all professional and semi Professional Football has now been postponed following the onset of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), though until now, grassroots and Youth/junior football has been allowed to continue. However, due to the escalation of Covid-19 and acting on the Government’s advice, The FA has now issued further instruction and guidelines in cancelling all grassroots Football with immediate effect and the statement from the FA in full is below.

Following the Government’s announcement today, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, we are now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.

Throughout this period, we have taken Government advice with the priority being the health and wellbeing of all. We will continue to work closely with the grassroots game during this time.

We are in regular communication with the Government and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates will follow as needed.

In reality this means that all Football activity on all levels at Nantwich Town Football Club has been postponed until further notice. We appreciate the huge disappointment and potential inconvenience that this may cause, and whilst this decision has potential serious long term consequences for all sports clubs, please be assured that the health and welfare of all coaches, players and parents using the facility, is of utmost importance to us and i would like to take the opportunity to thank you all personally for your understanding and the valued contributions that you all make and hopefully it won’t be too long before we are safely back up and running and to this end we will keep you updated on any fresh guidance and notifications that we receive.

Thanks sincerely for your understanding and support.
