Nantwich Town Disability Football (NTDF) has celebrated the end of another successful season, with players, coaches and supporters looking back on a campaign packed with achievements both on and off the pitch.
The thriving and inclusive football club supports more than 50 players across its visually impaired and pan-disability teams, providing opportunities for disabled people to enjoy football in a welcoming and supportive environment.
NTDF continues to champion accessibility in sport through its free weekly pan-disability training sessions, held every Friday evening on the 3G pitch at Nantwich Town FC’s Swansway Stadium on Water Lode in Nantwich (CW5 5BS). Open to players aged 14 and over, the sessions welcome anyone with a disability who wants to get involved in football, regardless of experience. Players also have the opportunity to compete in the Cheshire Ability Counts League as well as taking part in friendly matches throughout the season.
Reflecting on the campaign, NTDF Founder and Head Coach Craig Acton praised the commitment shown by everyone involved. He said:
“This season has been another great season, with all five Nantwich teams battling right till the end. We had league winners and league runners-up in different divisions. Every player on the pitch, in training and off the pitch has given everything to the NTDF cause and we are looking forward to next season.”
With preparations already under way for the 2026-27 season, the club is now asking the local community to support an ambitious fundraising challenge. Players, friends and supporters of NTDF will take part in a sponsored 42-mile walk on Saturday 29th August 2026, to raise vital funds for the club. The challenge will begin in Nantwich and finish at The Kinder Lodge in Hayfield.
Funds raised will help NTDF continue to provide free, inclusive football opportunities and support the continued growth of its programmes for visually impaired and pan-disability players.
