The Dabbers are looking for individual/s to be a part of the media operation primarily on matchdays.
This is a great entry-level, voluntary, opportunity for someone interested in the sports media industry. It can also provide part of a work experience quota for students.
It would initially be for home games only but with the scope to expand to away games as experience builds.
There are some duties, particularly at home, that sometimes fall outside the traditional idea of what sports media is, so below is a list of the things the Nantwich media team currently does for a home game, to give a better idea of some of the things you could do:
- Social media for the game on X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Minute-by-minute updates on X and graphics prepared and posted on half-time/full-time
- Full length match report for club website/local press and short match report for the Non League Paper
- Filming the game and using the SD card to work on clipping up and creating highlights for YouTube, that also carry their own basic overlay graphics
- Setting up and taking down the remote Hudl camera to film the game from a different angle, and fulfil league requirements for footage
- Interviewing the manager/sometimes a player after the game
- Operating the league app to record key game moments like (Nantwich only) goals, yellow cards, subs and start/end of each half as they happen
- Operating the electronic scoreboard (when it works), which is done via a laptop
- Stadium announcements, match info like goals, subs, attendance etc
- Taking photos of Player of the Match/filming club competitions post match
For any starters that take on some of these duties and enjoy them, there could later be the opportunity to get involved in some of the more day-to-day things that go into media at a non-league club. Previous Nantwich media volunteers have gone on to work at Wigan Athletic and Port Vale so this is a great starting point for a potential career.

There is the potential to take in more than one person depending on the replies/interest.
Separately, but also importantly, our media partners at The Cat Radio are looking for radio commentators for home games (Saturdays 3pm/Tuesdays 7.45pm). This is also a great opportunity for someone more interested in a career in broadcast media, to hone your skills in a relatively low pressure environment, and you’d receive technical help from The Cat.
