Nantwich Town FC Women powered on with their flying start to the season, stretching their unbeaten run to five matches after a commanding 3-0 win away to Manchester Laces Yellows FC at Ericstan Park on the afternoon of Sunday 31st August 2025.
The Dabbers went into the clash with three wins and a draw from their opening fixtures, and they kept that momentum rolling – leading 1-0 at the break before sealing a deserved 3-0 triumph at full-time.
Star striker Amanda Fallon bagged a brilliant brace, with Katie Greenwood also on target to keep the goals flowing.
At the other end, goalkeeper Chloe Swindell was simply outstanding. Not only did she keep her third straight clean sheet, but she also pulled off a crucial penalty save to deny the hosts a way back into the game. Her heroics earned her the GOAT Player of the Match award, complete with a £50 voucher from Nantwich’s new sports bar and restaurant on High Street.

Manager Dan Mellor praised his side’s resilience:
“Another really pleasing result for us today. That’s 21 goals scored in our last five games and a fourth consecutive clean sheet, which says a lot about the balance we’re starting to find as a team.
“We weren’t at our brilliant best this afternoon, but the grit and resilience the players showed got us through. A huge moment came with the penalty save at 2-0, that could have changed the game completely and our goalkeeper, Chloe was rightly named Player of the Match for a top performance.
“Wins like this, where we dig deep and still come out with a 3-0 scoreline, show the character that’s building within the group.”
The victory keeps the Dabbers sitting proudly at the top of the North West Women’s Regional League Division One South after five matches, sending out a clear message to rivals including AFC Crewe, Altrincham, Chester, Liverpool Feds, Macclesfield, Runcorn Linnets, Warrington Town and Wirral Phoenix that Nantwich mean business in Tier 6 of the women’s football pyramid.
