Nantwich Town FC Women’s flying start to life in the North West Women’s Regional League Division One South continued with a superb 6–0 victory away at AFC Crewe on Sunday 24th August 2025.
It was the Dabbers’ third win in as many games and their first away fixture at this level, following up Wednesday’s home triumph over the same opponents.
The visitors raced into a 4–0 lead by half-time, showcasing both attacking flair and defensive solidity. Despite a number of injury absentees, manager Dan Mellor fielded a strong squad who controlled the game from start to finish.
The goalscorers were Josie Alderman (sponsored by Dame Pat Bacon), Katie Greenwood (hat-trick – sponsored by Stephen Jackson), Amanda Fallon (sponsored by NTISA) and Bridie Harding (sponsored by Gary & Christine Johnson).
Greenwood’s brilliant treble underpinned another dominant performance and earned her the first-ever GOAT Player of the Match award, which included a £50 voucher from GOAT – Nantwich’s brand-new sports bar and restaurant on High Street.

Speaking after the final whistle, First Team Manager Dan Mellor praised his side:
“It was another strong performance from the girls today.
“To score six and keep a clean sheet against a tough rival shows the quality and confidence we’re playing with right now. I’m proud of how the players applied themselves, especially so soon after a big result against the same opposition earlier in the week.
“That said, it’s only three games into a long season. We know there will be tougher challenges ahead, and our focus has to stay on improving every week, keeping our standards high and working hard together.
“If we do that, the results will take care of themselves.”
This result keeps Nantwich Town FC Women perfect in Tier 6 of the women’s football pyramid, sending out a clear message that they are ready to challenge established names such as Altrincham, Chester, Liverpool Feds, Macclesfield, Manchester Laces, Runcorn Linnets, Warrington Town, and Wirral Phoenix.
