The Dabbers are back on the road on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off) as we head to Greater Manchester to face Stalybridge Celtic. We preview this clash, with hopes that it’s as exciting as our previous meeting this season.

Water under the Stalybridge

Our opponents find themselves 12th in the PitchingIn Northern Premier, and are unbeaten in their last 4. At the weekend, they recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Witton and have got good recent results against play off chasing Bamber Bridge and Morpeth.

Stalybridge made decent progress in the FA Trophy, knocking out Bootle on penalties before losing 1-0 to Farsley Celtic in the Second Round.

Last Time Out

The Dabbers made it 5 league meetings unbeaten against Stalybridge on opening day in August, with a 3-2 win courtesy of goals on their league debuts from Tommy Montefiori and Shaun Miller and a historic 100th goal for Sean Cooke, bookended by goals from Scott Bakkor and Stephen Brogan for Stalybridge. Highlights of that one are available below:

Players to watch

Brogan continues to be a threat from his defensive position, he’s scored in Stalybridge’s last two matches. Also watch out for Justin Johnson who can play on either wing and has been amongst the goals himself in recent games.
