Just one day to go before a first league game for the Dabbers in nearly a month this Saturday (3pm kick-off) as we head to the beautiful Yorkshire coast to face Scarborough. As always, let’s look ahead at what we can expect from this one.

Scarborough Fair-ing well

Mixed would be the word to best describe our weekend opponents’ form thus far. In 10th in the PitchingIn Northern Premier Division, Scarborough are 10 places but only 6 points better off than the Dabbers having both played 16 games.

Even though their last game was a comfortable 2-0 win over Lancaster, in October they followed a 3-2 win over Witton with a 3-2 defeat to Hyde, and there have been some painful losses in there, not least a 3-0 loss to local rivals Whitby and a 6-0 thumping by FC United. Most Scarborough fans would agree that a bit of consistency would be nice as they try to break into the play-offs.

Last Time Out

Our last meeting with Scarborough came in the short but sweet 20/21 season, a 1-1 draw away at the Flamingo Land Stadium. Reeling from Nathan Cartman opening the scoring from the penalty spot, Connor Heath came off the bench to level things (highlights courtesy of Scarborough’s channel available below)

Players to Watch

Goals have been flowing from the front three of Coulson, Cartman and Colville for Boro this season, Cartman scoring recently against Lancaster, Colville getting two against Hyde and Coulson notching against Witton. A trio to keep an eye on.
