After a narrow defeat away at Basford on Saturday, the Dabbers look to get back some momentum with Tuesday’s rearranged home match against Mickleover (7.45pm kick-off). We preview where this game could be won and lost.
One Mickle-over the Dabber’s Nest
Mickleover have recorded back to back wins in their last two games, beating Hyde 4-1 and winning 2-1 over Witton last weekend. This came after a run of no wins in their previous six, so they look to have found some form at a crucial time.
That Witton win saw them move four points ahead of the Dabbers and Witton themselves, with Mickleover now on 27 points in 19th ahead of the Dabbers on 23 points in 20th, however Mickleover have played three games more, and four games more than Witton who also have 23 points.
Last Time Out
On a wet and miserable night last September, the two sides played out a damp squib of a match, the game ending 0-0 in Derbyshire. Highlights of it can be viewed below.
Players to Watch
He wasn’t available in the reverse fixture, but Phil Watt is a dependable presence at the back for Mickleover and a danger at the other end as well, as was proved in that Hyde win where he scored twice. And look out for the returning hero Shaquille McDonald, the striker who saved Mickleover from relegation three years ago and marked his comeback to the club with a goal in the Witton victory.
