It’s back to league action for the Dabbers on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick off) as we host Marine at the Swansway Stadium for the first time in almost 4 years.

Not Marine Washable

The Mariners are unbeaten in their last 4, although 3 of those have been 1-1 draws. The outlier was a thumping 4-0 win over Atherton at the end of September.

It is the number of stalemates that are keeping Marine towards the bottom end of the table, 5 out of their 11 games has them 2 places and 4 points above the Dabbers in 16th in the PitchingIn Northern Premier League with a game in hand.

A quirk of the draws has meant they have played Radcliffe in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy, winning in the Cup and winning on penalties in the Trophy in their last game, but they did lose to them in the league last month.

Last Time Out

The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a 4-1 win to Marine in an FA Cup clash in Merseyside in late 2020. That was part of their incredible run in the competition all the way to the Third Round and a fairytale tie against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

For our last home meeting, you have to go back to November 2018, where the Dabbers came out on top by 3 goals to 2, thanks to a last minute winner by Steve Jones. Highlights from that one are available below.

Players to Watch

3 of the 4 goals in that Atherton win were scored by Hayden Campbell, formerly of Altrincham and Salford City and their top scorer.

Another one to watch is exciting Crewe Alex loanee Connor Evans, who has just signed for Marine on a 1 month loan. The young striker made 5 appearances for the Alex in League One last season before being hit by injury. On his return, he has been scoring for their Under 23 side and is already a Welsh youth international.
