The Dabbers are in action at home again this Saturday (3pm kick-off) as we welcome Lancaster City to the Swansway Stadium. The game is ON after the previously announced pitch inspection wasn’t required due to milder overnight weather than forecast.
Blankety Lanc
After failing to score in 3 out of 5 games, winning only once, Lancaster have won their last 3 on the bounce to take them up to 11th in the table, only conceding once in their last 4 matches. All 3 of those wins have been at home, however, and against lowly opposition in Whitby, Marske and Morpeth.
Over the course of the season, the Dolly Blues’ away form has actually been worse than the Dabbers, not winning away from the Giant Axe since November.
Last Time Out
In what feels like forever ago, the Dabbers opened up the 22/23 season in Lancaster with a 1-1 draw last August, with Connor Heath getting what turned out to be his last goal for Nantwich. Highlights below.
Players to Watch
Lancaster’s top scorer is Nic Evangelinos on 9 goals in all competitions, but only 4 of those have been in the league. He scored what turned out to be the winner in their 2-1 win over Morpeth last weekend.
Also worth looking out for is their Polish defender Pawel Zuk. Signed on loan from League Two Barrow in February, Lancaster have only lost once in his 6 appearances so far, and conceded just 2 goals in that time.
