The Swansway sees its first competitive action of the season on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off) with the visit of Kidsgrove.
Into the Grove
Kidsgrove couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season: 2 games and 2 wins in 2 competitions with no goals conceded. They beat Rugby Borough 1-0 in the FA Cup before opening up their league campaign with a 2-0 win over Wythenshawe Town. Both those games were at home so Tuesday marks their first away trip of the season.
Under the joint management of Tom Pope and Matt Rhead, they will be looking to climb the table after finishing just above the relegation zone in 18th last time out.
Last Time We Met
It was certainly an eventful night in January, as Kidsgrove came from 2 down to draw at the Swansway. Joe Bunney and Byron Harrison scored the Dabbers goals, the latter also missing a penalty. Highlights below.
Players to Watch
Rhead may be nominally on the touchline as joint manager but expect to see him on the pitch. He scored against the Dabbers on that night in January and scored for them again on Saturday. Everyone knows what he’s about by now but it’s another task entirely to stop it.
Both their goals on Saturday were scored by substitutes so it is worth watching whoever they bring on on Tuesday.

The most important information, though, is regarding parking. The ongoing occupation of the upper section of the car park by Network Rail means the main one will fill quickly. We are now advising supporters of both teams to use the Snow Hill car park just up the road at the leisure centre as that is free from 3pm onwards all week long. It is a 2 minute walk from there to the stadium.
Do not park on the road outside the stadium, or on the pavement there. It is causing distress and anger among the residents of the housing estate and is dangerous. Any supporters parking inappropriately will be asked to move.
