As we move into the final month of the regular season, every game carries more weight, and Monday’s is no different as the Dabbers welcome Hednesford Town to The Swansway Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Building a Hed of steam
The Pitmen have made a lot of changes since we last met on Boxing Day in their bid to avoid relegation, and in recent weeks it has started to bear fruit. The first and biggest was bringing in manager Paul Moore.
Only 4 of their matchday squad from December were involved in their 3-0 win over Witton on Saturday, a magnificent result against a play-off chasing side that has got them to within 2 points of safety. If you include regional cup games, they are unbeaten in 90 minutes in their last 6. Before Witton, they drew 1-1 with champions-elect Leek. Don’t let the league table April fool you, this should be a tight game, even if you factor in the day’s extra rest that Nantwich have had.
Last Time We Met
A Boxing Day sucker punch for the Dabbers with a 3-2 loss from a comfortable position given by goals from Byron Harrison and Jake Kirby. A painful day but worth remembering Nantwich were 16th after that defeat, the turnaround since has been superb with hopefully more to come.
Players to Watch
The signings have been eye-catching, names like Nathan Delfouneso, Jake Jervis and Junior Brown are all known to EFL viewers in recent years. However, it has been a familiar foe who has been delivering in recent weeks. Jai Verma scored the second goal against Nantwich in the reverse game and has scored 3 in his last 4.

Parking is free but limited so arrive early if possible. Also bear in mind it’s the final day of the Nantwich Jazz Festival so the town may be busy.
