Squid Gains

Gainsborough are currently enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run that goes back to 14th September and it continued on Saturday as they beat Coalville 3-0 In the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round to set up a home tie with Lancaster City in the next round. Trinity’s last league game was against Atherton Collieries where they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Brad Grayson’s 14th minute goal. The Lincolnshire based side who are currently managed by Tom Shaw, sit 14th in the league which is two places above the Dabbers.

Last Time Out

There was not much to write home about the last time the two sides met four days before Christmas in 2019. It finished goalless at The Northolme, but it included some fine goalkeeping from the Gainsborough stopper that day and the home side struck the post. There was also a slightly ridiculous and harsh late red card for Callum Saunders, all of which can be viewed below.

Players to Watch

Brad Grayson is currently Gainsborough’s leading scorer on five goals, all of which he has scored in his last ten games. He comes onto the game in a good bit of form as he as found the net in back-to-back games against Atherton Collieries and Coalville. Grayson’s goals have been important for the Holy Blues as they have only managed to score 11 goals in the league so for far this season making them the lowest scorers in the division.
