The Dabbers’ final game before Christmas sees us take on Bootle at the Swansway Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Puss in Bootles
Inconsistency seems to be the story for Bootle this season. Just looking at the results in recent months, they went from 3 defeats in a row at the end of October to back-to-back wins and then a spell of 1 win in their last 4. They lost at home to Mossley but then won away at Hednesford 4-2.
Their 2 most recent games have been a 1-0 defeat away at Mossley and a 2-2 draw at home to Chasetown in midweek. That has left them 13th in the NPL West on 30 points. However that is only 5 points off a play off place in a very tight mid-table.
What Bootle’s games don’t lack is goals. Their 40 scored is the 4th highest in the division but only 3 teams have conceded more than their 41 goals.
Last Time We Met
The Dabbers are yet to beat Bootle since returning to the same league as them. The latest meeting was on the first day of the season in Merseyside, as Bootle won out by 2 goals to nil with both goals coming in the second half. Highlights below.
Players to Watch
The Bucks’ top scorer is Ben Hodkinson on 10 goals in 22 appearances, which is double the amount of the next top scorers Conor Harwood and Kenzie O’Neill. Hodkinson scored in midweek for Bootle alongside Sean Williams.
Defender Sam Hughes has made the most appearances with 24 and goalkeeper and captain Tony Thompson is always tough to score past.
