We’re on the final stretch now, as we begin April by hosting Avro at the Swansway Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

There was significant news from Avro on Wednesday night as they announced their joint managers David Birch and Michael Norton and coach Neil Jackson and the club had ‘parted ways’, shocking many of their own supporters and wider fans in the NPL West.
The reason it comes as such a shock is because Avro have been in superb form in 2025, losing only 3 times and currently on a 5 game winning streak in the league after beating Clitheroe, Kidsgrove, Vauxhall, Witton and Newcastle, keeping clean sheets in 3 of those wins. It’s form that has taken them to 6th in the table and 4 points off a play off place.
It’s impossible to know how the players must be feeling but they’ll need to regather their thoughts quickly after this news and focus on trying to get above that dotted line in the final 5 games of the season. What it does do is unexpectedly make Saturday’s game more unpredictable, when before Wednesday to most it probably felt a likely Avro win given the two teams’ form.
Last Time We Met
A painful fusion of two of the most frustrating trends of Nantwich’s season in November as Avro won 2-1. Those trends? Playing against 10 men, which Avro had for the majority of the game after Max Harrop was sent off. Plus, conceding early in halfs as they did when Geffry Ebhote scored what turned out to be the winner. The Dabbers have still yet to ever beat Avro. Highlights below.
Players to Watch
The two players who’ve been scoring most often for the Ro lately have been AJ Warburton and Kyle Hawley. Hawley scored 4 goals in March, or 7 if you include a hat trick in the Fenix Trophy, a European competition for semi-pro and amateur teams, against FC Oslo. Warburton scored in the reverse fixture and scored 5 in March. Both have 9 for the season excluding their European exploits.
Avro’s top scorer is Liam Ellis on 11, however he hasn’t started their last 2 games.
