The Dabbers are on the road again, this time to Mossley on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Due to cup involvements and the way the fixtures have fallen, Saturday will actually be Mossley’s first home league game of the season. They beat Silsden at Seel Park in an FA Cup replay and were then beaten 4-0 at home in the round after by Bradford (Park Avenue). In the FA Trophy last weekend they travelled to Hallam and were beaten on penalties after a 3-3 draw in which Mossley had come from 3-0 down.
They’ve had 3 league games, winning one 4-2 against Atherton and losing the other 2, 2-1 to Vauxhall and 2-0 to Wythenshawe on Monday in their last game. A reminder, though, that all of those have been away from home. They only lost 3 times at home in the league in the whole of last season, it was an excessive number of draws that stopped them finishing higher than their 11th in the table.
Last Time We Met
Both meetings between the Dabbers and Mossley last season finished in 1-1 draws, with the most recent being the trip for Nantwich to Seel Park in April, where Paddy Kennedy’s strike secured a point.
Players to Watch
The gap between Monday and Saturday’s fixtures has led to a few teams returning to transfer business to fine tune squads after the start to the season. Mossley are no different, as Reece Webb-Foster, always a dangerous player for them, moved on to Padiham.
Charlie Frost likes to score goals in pairs. He did it against Atherton and did the same in the FA Trophy tie last weekend. Mason Fawns also got 2 in that Atherton game.

Mossley is one of the more accessible grounds in the NPL West by train, just a short walk from the station to the ground. Change at Manchester Picadilly with the trains running regularly from Crewe.
