Nantwich travel to Liversedge in an important match for both teams this Saturday (3pm kick-off), let’s look ahead to this first ever trip to the Clayborn Ground.

Liversedge fell to the bottom of the table with a 3-1 defeat to Belper in their last home game and stayed there after a spirited performance that ultimately ended in being well beaten 5-2 by league leaders South Shields in midweek. They last won in the league at the end of January, 1-0 at home over Gainsborough, their first win since the end of November, albeit they didn’t play for a month between December and January due to various weather-related postponements.
Their home record is the worst in the division, with just 6 points from 13 games and only 8 goals scored, out of a total of 22 goals which is also the lowest in the league.

Despite these numbers it shouldn’t be forgotten that Sedge won at the Swansway Stadium in October, a 1-0 victory courtesy of Jack Carr’s first half goal. Highlights from that game are below.

In the preview for that reverse fixture in October, we highlighted Nathan Cartman as their top scorer on 4 goals. In February, he is still their top scorer, but has only scored once more since then, a symptom of their issues in front of goal this season. But their 2 other forwards did score against South Shields last time out, in George Proctor and Nicholas Walker.
