It’s been one extreme or the other for the new management team at the Dabbers, win-loss-win-loss for Ritchie Sutton and Gary Taylor-Fletcher. They and everyone else at Nantwich will be hoping the positive side of that run continues with our trip to Hyde United on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off).
Hydeaway
The home side are in ominous form, winning their last 5 games in all competitions by an aggregate score of 11-3. And they have been wins against teams also at the sharp end of the Northern Premier League, both Warrington teams, FC United and Guiseley. This run has taken them into the play-offs, 5th in the league and just 2 points off the leaders South Shields. And all this after they only won 2 of their first 6, it’s been quite the turnaround.
One factor to consider is that Hyde are in FA Cup action this Saturday, a great looking home tie against Darlington to get to the 4th Qualifying Round, perhaps one or two players could be rested with that one in mind.
Last Time Out
On a grim December day last year came one of the lowest points of the season at the Project Solar Stadium, a 1-0 defeat to a Hyde side also struggling in the relegation zone at that point. Bradley Roscoe’s header won it for Hyde, mercifully that was as bad as it got for us last term, only 7 of the 16 players from that day are still at Nantwich. Players to Watch
Top scorer for Hyde is Jack Redshaw, with 5 in all competitions. He was at Ashton last season and has already matched his goal tally for the whole of that season. And that man Roscoe is still a threat, with 3 goals already from his deep lying midfield role. And Hyde hero Tom Pratt is never far away from the action in front of goal.
