After the late disappointment on Saturday, what better way to make up for it than a huge away game at FC United of Manchester for the Dabbers on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off).
Glazers out, FCUM in?
The turmoil at the other United is nothing new for FC United supporters, whose club’s very existence was inspired by the Glazers’ buyout in 2005. Just one night after a large protest, you can expect an even more rowdy atmosphere than usual at Broadhurst Park, no doubt boosted by some new faces who get to experience some proper football.
This has been a good start for FC, a stuttering opener against Atherton saw them lose 2-1 at home, but they have recorded back-to-back wins on the road since, a 4-1 thrashing of promoted Belper Town, and a strong 2-0 victory at Whitby that leaves them 5th in the early PitchingIn Northern Premier League table.
Last Time Out
The Dabbers recorded a league double over FCUM last season, the second a vital 2-0 win at home in March. Two of the Dabbers loanees, Jake Bickerstaff and Akiel Raffie, were the scorers as part of that brilliant run of clean sheets and wins that carried Nantwich to a solid mid-table finish. Highlights of that one are available below.
Players to Watch
Two FC players have both scored in their last two games. They are both familiar names, striker Regan Linney has 3 in 2 and winger Michael Donohue has 2 in 2. They are on form and will be looking to add to their totals against a Dabbers defence yet to keep a clean sheet this season.
