It’s Cheshire Senior Cup action that the Dabbers find themselves in on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off), as we head to the J Davidson Stadium to face former gaffer Phil Parkinson’s Altrincham in what will be a great test against quality opposition.

F-Alty Towers

It’s been a good season for Altrincham so far. After a more than solid 17th place finish in their first season back in the National League after promotion, they have kicked on again and are 12th in the table, 10 points off the play-offs after 19 games.

Having said that, they have found themselves in a bit of a struggle for victories, with only 1 win out of their last 11 games in all competitions, that win coming over Weymouth in mid-November. Their games certainly haven’t lacked for goals either, with a couple of 2-2s and 3-2s in there, most notably that cracking pair of FA Cup First Round games against Gateshead, the first a 2-2 draw in the North East and the replay a 3-2 defeat at home.

Last Time Out

The last time we played was in July this year, with this pre-season friendly seeing Altrincham win 3-0 that day at the Optimum Pay Stadium. The goals that evening were scored by Marcus Dinanga, Ryan Colclough and Dan Mooney. You can read the report from that match by clicking here.

Players to Watch

With it being a local cup game, it’s likely to be different players than out there for the home side. So rather than trying to pick out a danger man or men, instead we’ll remind you that there’s far more than just Phil Parkinson with a Dabbers connection in the Alty squad, with Josh Hancock, Andy White, Matty Kozylo, Toby Mullarkey, Richie Sutton, Tom Peers and most recently Matty Gould all having played for Nantwich at some point.
