Nantwich Town are delighted to announce the signing of forward Mason McKay who has agreed a one-year deal to sign permanently for the Dabbers.
McKay, just 18 years old, joined on dual registration at the end of last season and made 4 appearances, after spending most of the year with National League North champions AFC Fylde who he had been part of over the past few seasons through their U18s before progressing into their first team squad. In just the few appearances he made since joining the Swansway Stadium for the final month he quickly highlighted the potential he has including the standout assist he provided in a goal against Darlaston at home.
A direct and quick forward, Mason, who despite just a short stint so far has enjoyed his Nantwich Town experience and can’t wait to get going permanently for 2026/27, said:
“I’m delighted to be signing for Nantwich Town and really looking forward to the season ahead. I really like what Luke and the staff had to say and I’m excited to be involved in the project that is being built here, I can’t wait to get going now in pre-season with the lads and showing the Dabbers fans what I can do.”
Manager Luke Goddard said:
“I’m pleased Mason and his family have opted to trust Nantwich Town to continue his progression. So many get badly advised or chase levels, money etc; it’s been refreshing from when he first got highlighted by our scout Hayden that they have trusted in us.
He has a big future at just 18 years old; he will have to be patient but he is determined to make an immediate impact this summer and if so we have a gem on our hands but we will work with him; if it takes a bit more time then so be it but as I’ve openly said whether it’s lads like Mason joining from other clubs or our own talent internally, we will ensure they’re given an opportunity here if good enough to develop and progress. This club has a record of that which together we will only improve on even further.”
