Nantwich Town can confirm that defender Josh Langley has joined Warrington Rylands after three years with the Dabbers.
Langley joined the club in the summer of 2019, after spending time at Fylde, Altrincham and Southport earlier in his career.
He quickly became a fan favourite with his composure on the ball and natural leadership standing out right from the off.
He grabbed his one and only Dabbers goal in the September of that year against Scarborough (below).
Then, during the difficult Covid period with two cancelled seasons, he remained loyal and a vital member of the squad.
In the 2021-22 season, Langley excelled, being part of a defence that kept 5 consecutive league clean sheets for the first tine in 57 years, and finishing the season with just 1 defeat in 11 games to take the Dabbers away from danger.
This was capped off by Josh winning the Players’ Player of the Season for 21/22 at the clubs’ annual awards in April (below).
He finishes with 87 appearances and 1 goal in a Dabbers shirt.
Manager Dave Cooke said:
“Josh has been the ultimate pro, a great servant to the club and popular with fellow players, staff and supporters.
“Warrington Rylands have come in for him, they play close to his home, and with him having a small lad and another baby on the way he felt he could have more time at home in Warrington.”
Everyone at Nantwich Town thanks Josh for his service and wishes him and his family the best for the future.
