Nantwich Town can confirm that Jake Kirby has left the club to join Vauxhall Motors after we received a 7-day notice from them.
Jake returned to the game after a lengthy absence to play for the Dabbers in October, and went on to make 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.
Manager Paul Carden said:
“I had a conversation with Jake and he didn’t want to leave, but his work schedule had changed which meant he was going to be missing training sessions, so Vauxhall apparently train a little bit later than ourselves which enables him to get across there and make training.
It wasn’t an easy decision for him because I’ve known Jake a long time but it’s purely down to work commitments, he had to do it. We wish him well; I’m glad he’s back playing and I’m glad we’ve helped him get back playing again because he’s a really good lad and a good player. It wasn’t easy for him coming back but the games that he played I felt he’s done well for us and we wish him well.”
