On the back of his move to the Weaver Stadium ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, Nantwich Town’s new goalkeeper Greg Hall speaks to the club’s website about why he decided to join the club, his praise of the supporters and manager as well as how his experience will help the dressing room at the club.
The goalkeeper believes he is raring to go ahead of the new season at the Weaver Stadium.
“My immediate reaction to joining the club was that of joy and real excitement. I just can’t wait to get going.”
The experienced stopper has spent many years in non-league football, and believes that his background will help a fairly young dressing room at the club.
“I’m sure the lads at the club have all got their own ways to help the team.
“For me, I just want to be myself and set a good example both on and off the pitch.”
For the upcoming campaign, Greg’s main ambition is for the team to reach their goals.
“Personally, I want to finish higher than I did last year with Witton [in 9th place]. However, the real goal for me this year is to help the team reach their collective goals. That’s the main thing.”
With the move across Cheshire, the keeper admits that the supporters at the Dabbers was one of the main reasons why he made the switch.
“The fans can expect 100% commitment from me. They were one of the main reasons why I joined the club. The reception I received last time I played at the Weaver was very warm and that really stuck with me.”
While the fans were one of the primary reasons Greg joined the club, he also praised manager Dave Cooke for bringing him to the Weaver.
“As I’ve mentioned before the fans follow the club home and away, and I’m looking forward to giving my all in every game.
“Massive thanks must go to the manager who was the main reason why I find myself at such a top club. He’s a top man and made this whole process really easy for me.
“I’ve got a big heart and I must say that leaving Witton was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.”
Greg could make his debut for the club this pre-season as Nantwich host five strong sides at the Weaver Stadium. The club are offering fans the chance to purchase a package for all five home friendlies. Adults can pay £25 to see all five games making a saving of £9 with concessions at £15, making a saving of £8. These can be purchased from the club shop.
