It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (Grandad) John Davies, after a short illness.
John became affectionally known as (Grandad) John to generations of kids and their families, as a volunteer cheerily welcoming them and collecting their sub monies, rain or shine every Saturday morning at our community sessions, since the opening of our 3G facility back in 2007. He was also an ardent Dabbers supporter at games home and away and he will be greatly missed by his wife Marlene, family, friends and the Dabbers community. He was also the father-in-law of our Chairman and proud granddad to two of our own players Ollie & James.
The funeral will take place on Monday 21st June at Nantwich Church at 11.15am and will be preceded by the cortege taking him on a final lap of the stadium at 10.50am. Due to current restrictions, places at the church are unfortunately limited to 80 places, so friends wishing to say goodbye to John are asked to gather either outside the church or at the Optimum Pay Stadium.
A minute’s silence in John’s memory will take place prior to the Crewe game on Sunday July 11th.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the many kind messages of condolence and sympathy that they have received.
