Dabbers sign Jordan Hodkin on loan from Crewe

Nantwich Town are delighted to welcome the signing of forward Jordan Hodkin from Crewe Alexandra on an initial one month loan deal.

Hodkin, 18, arrives with a fantastic goal scoring record in the youth teams and is a hardworking forward who has played for the Alex in both the EFL Cup and Vertu Trophy this season, scoring in the latter after signing his first professional contract last summer.

He has had previous loan spells at Hanley Town and Leek Town.

Manager Luke Goddard said:

“A big thank you to Crewe and Kenny Lunt for helping sort this over the past few days. With a few knocks and a small squad, myself and Marc felt it was necessary to look at the loan market to just boost us ahead of a tough few weeks of fixtures.

Jordan has a great reputation and can play anywhere in those forward areas which gives us the flexibility we want and fits into the way we see moving forward to have that energy and excitement to get supporters off their seats!

It’s also important we continue to build our relations with the footballing world, something this club has been so good at over the years, so being trusted to help the development of another young player, as well as adding to our great blend currently here, is exciting.”

Hodkin becomes the first signing of the Goddard and Feighery era and with the relevant paperwork being completed he should be in contention for tomorrow’s home fixture at the Swansway as we welcome Stalybridge Celtic (3pm).
