Nantwich Town are pleased to announce the signing of experienced defender Joe Bunney.
The versatile 31-year-old brings over 160 EFL appearances as well as knowledge and experience of the local non-league scene.
Starting out at Lancaster City, he worked his way up the pyramid and is best known for his time at Rochdale in the 2010s, where he made 160 appearances across 2 spells.
In more recent years, he’s played for familiar clubs such as Altrincham, Macclesfield, Marine, and most recently Hyde United, where he played 11 times on loan last season.
Manager Jon Moran said:
“I am delighted to welcome Joe to the club. Joe is a terrific person and a brilliant player, who is going to add so much to this squad.
We have worked really hard to bring in the right personnel to strengthen this group and have taken our time to ensure we get the right people through the door. We need players with a mix of experience, quality and character, of which Joe shows all in abundance. Being able to attract a player of Joe’s ability is a testament to the journey this club has been on in a short period of time, and we are all delighted to have got it over the line.
Please join me in welcoming Joe to the Dabbers.”

“Delighted to be here, it’s a great football club. I think the squad is already really strong and I hope I add to that. I think I can bring experience now with being an older player & having played at a higher level & it also helps having won this league twice before previously with both Warrington Rylands and Macclesfield.”
