Nantwich Town are pleased to announce the signing of defender Joe Davis.
The 32-year-old is no stranger to the Dabbers, having made 33 appearances and scored 3 goals in a previous spell at the club between 2019 and 2020.
He of course reunites with his brother Harry in the Nantwich backline.
On returning to Nantwich, Joe said:
“It feels great to be back at the club. I really enjoyed my last spell here, getting into the play-offs and reaching the first round of the FA Cup, and I’m hoping we can replicate that success this season.
Nantwich Town has always been an important club in our family, with the links to my dad and now Harry as captain. We both grew up on the terraces of Jackson Avenue and the new stadium, so it always feels like a special place to come back to.
Having been around the group throughout pre-season, I can see what Luke, Marc and Jack are looking to create here, and it’s something I’m really excited to be part of.”
And manager Luke Goddard said:
“It’s been great to have Joe back involved the last few weeks. Obviously it’s all about getting him back to it and we are really blessed now with options defensively giving no excuses for the whole season knowing we have strong options but importantly the right ones and characters.
I know it means a lot to Joe and he has a regained hunger which if we can progress throughout the campaign we are gaining an unbelievable signing as he’s still just 32 years old which probably is forgotten. He can be a big asset in all areas for a number of years and an important cog to what we can achieve.”
