Nantwich Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of attacker Iwan Roberts who joins the Swansway Stadium for 2026/27.
Roberts, 21 years old, is a graduate of Liverpool’s academy where he departed in 2023 before joining Bala Town. He finished last season with Newtown in the Cymru Alliance North after joining in January from Gresford.
On joining the Dabbers, Iwan said:
“I’m buzzing to be joining Nantwich Town. It’s a great opportunity for me, and one I’m ready to take with both hands. From speaking with the gaffer, it was clear this was the right place for me, and I’m excited for the challenge ahead. I’ll give everything I have for the badge and do all I can to help the team have a successful season. Up the Dabbers.”
Manager Luke Goddard added:
“We’ve done a lot of research with Iwan, with the great help of Hayden who helps immensely with recruitment of these profiles. Recruitment is harder than ever for every club and we’ve tried to ensure this year we’ve been strict with our approach. Iwan joins from the Welsh league, an area with our location we can and have had good success in the past in exploring.
His pedigree is excellent and we had a great chat a number of weeks back. His fitness levels have been up with the best of the group pre-season with him already gelled into the group being formed. He will hopefully help give us even more options at the top end of the pitch as we look to ensure we have numerous threats all over to produce goals that ultimately win games. Again at just 21 years old, he is someone who we can develop over a number of seasons as we look to not just build a group for a one-off season but a stable, progressive and ambitious group who want success with Nantwich Town.”
