It may not have the fundraising might of the remarkable Captain Sir Tom Moore, but the recently-published book on the Dabbers’ history is close to raising £1,000 for Covid charities.
There are just a handful of copies left of the ‘Ultimate Book of Nantwich Town Football Club’. And selling these would hit a four-figure donation of the book’s proceeds to be shared between Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Charitable Fund COVID-19 Emergency Staff Wellbeing Appeal and The Care Workers Charity.
“The response to the book from Nantwich football fans has been fantastic,” says author Michael Chatwin. “Everyone has been so positive about it. It would now be great to hit the £1,000 fundraising target. The past 10 months or so have been so challenging for everyone but it’s hard to imagine how we’d have got through without the terrific workers in the NHS and social care.”
Full details of the 324 page book are available at www.ultimatebook.bigcartel.com. During the current lockdown, it can be dropped off free of charge at any address in Nantwich.
