Nantwich Town are delighted to announce that Alex Panter has signed a contract to remain with the Dabbers.
This news comes after Panter turned down a concrete approach from a Step 3 club in a sign of trust in Nantwich’s progress.
Alex is Nantwich’s top scorer this season with 7 goals in all competitions, and has 10 goals in 37 games since joining the club in January.
He is continuing what’s been a meteoric rise in the last couple of years. Up to the end of the 2023/24 season he was at Poynton in the Cheshire League, scoring 20 goals in that campaign as they won 3 trophies.
That earned him a move into the North West Counties system with Maine Road (10th tier). The step up didn’t seem to faze him at all. Between July and November 2024 he scored 11 goals and set up 4 more in 23 appearances.
This caught the attention of Wythenshawe Town, who he made 9 appearances for after joining in November 2024 before joining the Dabbers.

He has come on leaps and bounds and whilst we would love to take some of the credit, this is down to the person Alex is. Alex is a testament to Nantwich Town and is everything I look for in a player. We have supported him and given him the chance to prove himself and he has done just that and more. He deserves commitment from us and we truly believe he will be a player that progresses exponentially and we are so excited to be a big part of that.
